It's that time again... bundle up, pack your Yak Trax and head over to the Drake campus, Winter/Spring training time is here!

The kickoff meeting for this year's training group will be held on January 14th at 7:00pm at the Des Moines Marathon Office located at 38th and Ingersoll in Des Moines. This meeting is not required to participate with the group, but it's highly recommended if you're new to running, curious about details of the group or simply have questions like "How do I keep my snot from freezing?" (answer: you don't)

The first run of either 5 or 8 miles is Saturday, January 16th at 8:00am. All the details about where to meet up and what to expect are available on the Winter/Spring Training Group page.

A New Website! (duh)

If it's not entirely obvious to you, I've finally gotten our new website off the ground.  It's taken a lot longer than expected... mostly because we had so much content on the old site that needed to be reformated and organized.  So much so that it's still a work-in-progress. Some information is still missing, such as details on Loop the Lake and Capital Pursuit, but all the important stuff is here.

Feel free to poke around and to create an account (which is needed to post comments). If you've got an itch to post content, let us know and we'll give you the ability to do so directly, something that was completely impossible with the old site.

The Board hopes you like the new site! Let us know your thoughts (both good and bad are welcome) by emailing webmaster@capitalstriders.org
