Capital
Striders and Pella
Windows and Doors announce the 26th Annual Capital Pursuit.
We invite you to participate in the classic 10-mile
race which winds through the East Village, Drake Neighborhood,
Polk Boulevard, Ingersoll business district, and finishes
back downtown at Nollen Plaza. There's also a 5K
race run entirely in the downtown area.
We are also pleased to announce this year's 10-Mile race has
been awarded state championship status by our parent organization,
Road Runners
Club of America. Since 1958, the RRCA has awarded championship
events through a competitive bidding process. The Capital
Striders are proud to have been selected for this honor.
Capital Striders members (with current membership numbers)
benefit by receiving a $5 discount for mailed entries, if
postmarked by 9/19, or by 9/23 for online entries. No discounts
will be offered at Packet Pick-up or on Race Day.
Again this year, the Capital Striders will donate a portion
of the race proceeds to Wildwood
Hills Ranch to help at-risk children. Runners can make
extra contributions to benefit this cause by including it
on their mail-in or online registrations.
Moisture control shirts will be guaranteed for the first 750
registrants. Capital Striders will present each 10-Mile and
5K finisher with a medal to commeorate the 26th running of
the Capital Pursuit.
Register now to be part of the 2008 Capital Pursuit.
